Grape origin
Morbio Superiore and Ligornetto, Ticino.
Vineyards on hilly terrain above the Breggia Gorge and at the foot of Mount San Giorgio, under organic management. Typical clay soils of the region, with the presence of limestone. Altitude between 400 and 450 metres above sea level.
Vinification and ageing
Maceration on the skins for about 20 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Ageing takes place in second and third-passage barrels for 12 months.
Tasting notes
Ruby red colour. The nose is rich in spices, with aromas of pepper and liquorice accompanied by fruity hints of cherries and figs. On the palate it has a nice tannic texture and notes of well-ripened fruit. Despite these warm notes, its good acidity provides a nice freshness on the finish.
A blend that fully expresses the terroir of the Mendrisiotto and the 2022 vintage, characterised by a hot, dry summer.
